Online Training - Creating Business Lead Lists

Learn to use advanced search techniques in the Dun & Bradstreet Total database to build highly targeted B2B sales lead lists, or business competitor lists. Create lists of actual businesses by geography, industry, company size, executive title, and more. This class uses HillSearch databases and is intended to train current and prospective HillSearch members. Searching for articles in the business press will provide you with crucial information from reliable sources to augment just about any kind of research. Learn to use Hill Library databases to locate industry reports and company profiles, along with articles on management trends and regional market information. Freedom of Information: Your Key to Open Government

The lecture, which promotes freedom of information and the importance of open government in honor of Sunshine Week — March 14–20, 2010, is co-sponsored by the Saint Paul Public Library, the Minnesota Coalition on Government Information, The James J. Hill Reference Library, and the St. Paul Pioneer Press . Jane E. Kirtley is the Silha Professor of Media Ethics and Law at the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Minnesota. She also serves as Director of the Silha Center for the Study of Media Ethics and Law and as an affiliated faculty member at the University of Minnesota Law School. A lawyer and former journalist, Professor Kirtley was executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press from 1984–1999. She writes and speaks frequently on First Amendment and Freedom of Information issues, and on media and legal ethics, in the United States and abroad. Free, no need to rsvp.

Ann Bancroft

Join explorer Ann Bancroft for an evening presentation on her past adventures and future plans. Bancroft is one of the world's preeminent polar explorers and an internationally recognized leader who is dedicated to inspiring women and girls around the world to unleash the power of their dreams. Bancroft’s most recent expedition with Norwegian polar explorer Liv Arnesen took place in 2001. She became the first woman in history to sail and ski across Antarctica’s landmass. Americana Music Series

AMERICANA SHOWCASE INVADES THE CAPITAL CITY Americana Showcase Please join us in celebrating EDG's first exhibition in Saint Paul with an extraordinary Made in Minnesota music series. This celebration will include a series of five music concerts which will be performed in the Reading Room of the historic James J. Hill Reference Library amidst 37 of acclaimed photographer Clyde Butcher's epic photographic images echoing his love of the American landscape.
