The James J. Hill Reference Library has awed and inspired visitors with its historical intrigue and stunning architecture since it opened to the public in 1921. Constructed of Tennessee marble and Minnesota sandstone, it is both a living monument to “the Empire Builder,” James J. Hill, and a Saint Paul touchstone, situated on picturesque Rice Park in the heart of downtown.

HILL LIBRARY'S READING ROOM
NOW AVAILABLE FOR RENTAL 7 DAYS A WEEK!
An incomparably grand space that elevates corporate events, parties and wedding receptions to a whole new level. Accommodates 215 for receptions, 150 for ceremonies plus receptions, 260 cocktail style and 140 lecture style.
